What you’ll need to succeed as a Specialist, Claims at XPO
Minimum qualifications:
- 1 year of experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent typing and PC skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of common law liability, Code of Federal Regulations, rules and tariffs, transportation contracts and agreements, and the National Motor Freight Classification system
- Demonstrated ability to work under strict deadlines utilizing good planning and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Independently review all incoming emails and mail to accurately identify new claim filings and respond to customer inquiries
- Efficiently data-enter claims into the claims application with high accuracy
- Review all returned checks to identify the cause and ensure the customer receives payment moving forward, communicating with customers and XPO Accounting as needed to resolve the issue
- Use general cargo claims knowledge to understand incoming correspondence and correctly route lawsuits, canceled claims, and other documentation to management with minimal oversight
