What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and all audit guidelines; participate in the development of new or revised standards and recommend new process improvements when needed.
  • Participate in cross functional teams and continuously improve procurement processes by identifying and leading efforts to reduce cycle times, improve service level agreements and reduce costs.
  • Continually look to reduce company costs and spend associated with Analyst-related responsibilities.
  • Utilize procurement software and data analytics tools to analyze procurement performance and supplier performance
  • Assist with identifying and assessing potential risks related to procurement activities, supply chain vulnerabilities, and market fluctuations.
  • Conduct research and market analysis to identify and evaluate supplier capabilities, financial stability, and performance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to address operational issues, evaluate performance, and foster strong business relationships.
  • Identify opportunities with category management teams to optimize supplier partnerships and improve service levels.

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
  • 3 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management experience
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Ability to lead effective meetings with senior leadership teams and business groups
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to present complex concepts and findings in a clear and concise manner

 

It’d be great if you also have:  

  • Strong project management ability to oversee multiple complex projects
  • Experience implementing strategic initiatives and improving supplier performance
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques and ability to manage large data sets
  • Experience leading change initiatives within a large complex organization 
  • The capability to exercise judgment and discretion, and function independently within authorized limits
