Lead Engineer, Technology Quality Assurance

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of QA Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and frameworks to ensure quality at all stages of the development lifecycle.
• Design, automate, and execute test cases for new and existing features, ensuring complete coverage and identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to review requirements and provide feedback on testability and quality expectations.
• Analyze test results and provide clear reports on software defects, test coverage, and quality metrics to management and stakeholders.
• Mentor and train junior QA engineers in automation best practices and tools
• Continuously improve QA processes and tools, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in quality assurance.
• Participate in code reviews and provide input on design decisions to promote quality from the ground up.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 9+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role, with at least 2 years in a lead position.
• Strong background in test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium/Playwright (Preferred), Rest Assured (Optional), and programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Proficient in various testing methodologies, including functional, regression, retesting, sanity and smoke.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automated testing integration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
