What you’ll need to succeed as a Specialist, Time and Attendance at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

  • 1 year of HR shared services, payroll, customer service, or related experience, preferably within a large multi-state organization.
  • Working knowledge of HR processes, procedures, and compliance requirements within at least one HR functional area (ex: employee data, benefits, payroll, staffing, compensation, or learning).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of HR shared services, payroll, customer service, or related experience, preferably within a large multi-state organization.
  • Ability to accurately process transactions and maintain confidential employee information.
  • Ability to identify issues in straightforward situations, follow established procedures, and make sound decisions within defined guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with contact center technology and case management systems (ex: ServiceNow).
  • Experience with workforce management or HR systems (ex: Kronos, Workday, UKG).
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on timely and accurate resolution of employee inquiries.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, follow established processes, and meet service-level expectations.
  • Ability to recognize when issues fall outside standard procedures and require escalation.
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Understanding of standard business practices and professionalism in a service-oriented environment

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support the Human Resources and Payroll teams by providing timely assistance to associates and managers on HR, payroll, timekeeping, and attendance-related inquiries.
  • Enter, maintain, and audit employee time, attendance, and personnel data in HR and payroll systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Process timecard corrections, historical edits, PTO adjustments, and termination-related transactions, including final PTO payout calculations.
  • Partner with managers to validate and resolve routine timekeeping, attendance, and payroll-related issues.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding PTO, timekeeping, payroll, and other HR processes, delivering a high-quality customer experience.
  • Monitor HR and payroll systems to identify routine data discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review, reconcile, and maintain HR and payroll records in accordance with established standards, timelines, and service expectations.
  • Identify issues in straightforward situations, apply established procedures to determine appropriate resolutions, and escalate more complex matters when needed.
  • Take ownership of assigned and escalated requests, ensuring accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and complete case resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to support the effective delivery of HR and payroll services.
