As the Shop Supervisor, we’ll count on you to lead a team of Technicians to maintain company owned equipment. You’ll be essential to providing safe, reliable, and roadworthy equipment to our drivers, allowing them to provide superior and safe service to our customers. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Supervise maintenance employee and contract workers, including but not limited to, hiring, work assignments, promotions, and termination recommendations.
  • Observe, mentor, develop and review the performance and progress of mechanics and all shop personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of class 7 and 8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment in compliance with the manufacturers and company schedules.
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
  • Monitor and analyze trends in parts utilization, gains, shortages, usage.
  • Minimize the time that equipment is out of service.
  • Know and comply with pertinent DOT regulations.
  • Monitor the sale and disposition of retired and scrapped equipment

What you need to succeed at XPO: 

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 2 years of fleet maintenance or management experience
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • Current CDL
  • Previous or current ASE Certifications
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • LTL industry experience
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and administrative skills

This job requires the ability to:

  • Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
  • Walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
  • Work outside in inclement weather
