What you’ll need to succeed as a Maintenance Specialist at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years of related experience in an industrial maintenance role or equivalent experience in HVAC, Mechanical or Electrical trades
  • Able to interpret preventive maintenance schedules
  • Able to interpret parts breakdowns and schematics
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical tools
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
  • Strong time management skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • At least one year of apprenticeship in electrical, HVAC or plumbing.
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment – i.e., bandsaws, drill presses, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment in one or more assigned areas
  • Maintain records of installation, maintenance and repair orders to track activities ensuring work is documented
  • Use various hand tools, electronic tools and measuring devices
  • Respond to emergencies and callouts as required; make necessary repairs timely
  • Operate specialized equipment and vehicles
  • Collaborate with and support other functional areas of the facility
  • Demonstrate the Company’s core values and comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Maintenance Specialists are required to:

  • Lift to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Safely walk and stand for extended periods in a facility that is not climate-controlled
  • Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
  • Frequently use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
