As the Manager, Claims, you’ll perform a variety of service functions and responsibilities in support of corporate insurance claims, legal claims, and large value claims. You’ll work with Operations, IT, Legal, Corporate insurance and other departments or business units to fulfill scope of work commitments related to claims.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Maintain and update claim files and database system utilizing the Last Mile DMS/CLM Claim System to compile and file insurance records
  • Prepare and process insurance documents, reports, correspondence, etc., as necessary for corporate insurance and legal claim handling
  • Communicate with employees, business partners, customers, and insurance representatives to obtain information and answer questions concerning claims and incidents
  • Provide internal review and direction of third-party claims involving legal issues, legal actions, and lawsuits for necessary investigation and defense
  • Work with insurance and legal counsel to handle and develop defense of claims involving delivery, installation failures, property damage, accidents, and liability
  • Monitor legal claims for developing trends, legal climate, hot topics, legislative, and regulatory issues affecting claims
  • Responsible for day-to-day claim activity of third-party claims submitted by claimants, customer markets, operations, legal, etc., for ultimate settlement and disposition
  • Monitor independent contract carriers and report on compliance issues pertaining to indemnification, required insurance, additional insured status, insurance coverage exclusions/omissions
  • Report compliance issues and breaches to compliance team, local leadership, and management to alert of potential exposure to XPO and potential financial implications

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 Years of experience in insurance claims and/or legal claims handling
  • Basic knowledge of insurance policy language

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Advanced-level user of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs
  • Advanced Data Analysis using Excel
  • Ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software
  • Thorough knowledge of internal company software applications applicable to position/business unit
