As the District General Manager, you will develop and lead multiple remote district work groups to exceed goals for top line revenue growth. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Achieve P&L goals for the district and drive ownership of P&L through span of control, including developing talent and coaching to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), engaging employees, leading situational and competency awareness, hiring/terminating team members, and driving performance improvement 
  • Search for opportunities to continuously improve operational execution and profitability
  • Direct, lead and manage a team, focusing on specific geographical area accountabilities, growth opportunities and trends to leverage industry benchmarks and provide year-over-year improvement of KPI measurements  
  • Proactively address and direct solutions associated with all service exceptions 
  • Align pricing strategy in the area through collaboration with Sales, Pricing and the Marketing team
  • Ensure employee engagement by fostering a supportive work environment, ensuring effective employee relations and applying HR policies consistently across the workforce
  • Execute fleet strategy and tactics to increase profitability and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with multiple functional areas such as Business Intelligence, Finance, Safety, Procurement and Information Technology to develop data paths to identify efficiencies

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience 
  • 8 years of experience in a supply chain, procurement, maintenance or transportation service company 
  • Supervisory experience in a team-focused environment 
  • Proven ability to read and manage a P&L
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT maintenance regulations 
  • Proven knowledge of sales and supply chain management techniques and processes 
  • Solid ability to effectively manage vendor and customer relationships at all levels 
  • Ability to perform and direct moderately complex analyses in spreadsheet and database programs, such as Excel and Access; proficiency in Microsoft Office

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Master’s degree in Business or related field
  • Availability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Less-than-Truckload (LTL) experience
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
