We’re on the lookout for a Transport Operator to join our team on the Fuchs contract. This is a full-time, permanent role working the mid shift, Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 19:00.

 

You’ll be at the heart of ensuring our transport operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £26,200 per annum. As well as this, you’ll receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks. There is also an opportunity to learn and progress through the transport operation.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

As a Transport Operator, you’ll report to the Transport Shift Manager and be at the heart of our operations:

 

Operations

 

· Coordinate 18+ drivers

· Manage sub-contract bookings and dispatch

· Oversee vehicle loading and driver dispatch

· Communicate with customers, hauliers and internal XPO Network Sites

· Handle debrief paperwork and proof of delivery

· Support planning, maintenance, and KPI reporting

· Maximise vehicle utilisation and build strong haulier relationships

 

Service Levels

 

· Ensure on-time deliveries and report delays

· Maintain accurate and secure documentation

· Support efficient document retrieval and compliance

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

 

· Essential: 1-2 years’ experience working within a transport office or office environment.

· Essential: Strong communication and administration skills, able to handle different personality types

· Essential: Great organisational skills, management capability and strong influencing skills.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel would be an advantage but training will be provided.
