Transport Controller

Ready to join a site as its growing? How would you like to work for a company that can accelerate your career? We are looking for someone like you. We’re currently recruiting for Transport Controllers to be based at our customer site in Ilkeston, Derbyshire for our transport operations . You will be working across a Monday – Friday shift pattern.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Co-ordinate the transport operations on site and on customer premises to meet both customer and company expectations
• Ensure vehicle defects are reported and actioned in a timely manner
• Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner
• Continually look to improve the service we provide offering ideas and recommendations as necessary.
• To build and maintain a strong partnership with the transport functions and drivers to ensure regular communication is delivered.
• Driver brief and de-briefing as well as data entry of statistics, customer reports and KPI’S

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders
• Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
• Good administrative skills
• Working knowledge of drivers hours regulations
• Have a positive can-do attitude
• Experience working in a Transport role would be desirable
• Being proactive in identifying and resolving any potential issues before they occur
